2012 Katnook Estate Coonawarra Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak of which 15% were new. Opaque black dark crimson colour with a dark crimson red hue. Perfumed aromas of liquorice, dark chocolate, ripe blackberries and vanillin oak with some spicy mocha end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate features bold rich flavours of liquorice, dark chocolate and blackberries over vanillin oak and spice all wrapped up in a soft supple mouthfeel. Velvety tannins with a medium to long blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
