2012 Hewitson The Mother Vine Shiraz

Matured for 20 months in new and seasoned French oak barriques. Opaque black purple colour with a dark purple hue. The nose displays dark plummy aromas alongside some liquorice and blackberry with trailing subtle vanillin cedar and spice scents. Generous rich ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum flavours are to the fore followed by some spicy vanillin cedar and meaty blackpepper. Opulent mouthfeel with serious depth and power. Velvet smooth tannins with a long blackberry, liquorice, vanillin cedar and meaty blackpepper aftertaste.
