2012 Heartland One Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz

‘One’ is the new icon wine of Heartland – a blend of 63% Cabernet Sauvignon and 37% Shiraz that has been matured in a combination of French and American oak for 14 months. Powerful aromas of liquorice, ripe blackberry, cassis and dark chocolate waft from the glass followed by nuances of vanillin oak, spearmint and spice. Full bodied, rich and powerful with a dense ripe mouthfeel the palate features an opulent flavour experience of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and cassis with underlying toasty vanillin oak and spice characters. Velvet smooth but solidly structured tannins. Superb length with long ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate and spicy vanillin oak aftertaste.
