2012 Gibson The Smithy Shiraz Cabernet

A blend of 66% Shiraz and 34% Cabernet Sauvignon. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark purple red hue. Lifted aromas of liquorice and blackberry intermingle with ripe blackcurrant aromas over a background of vanillin cedar, subtle dark chocolate and confectionary. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses wonderful richness in conjunction with a seamless velvet smooth mouthfeel and elegant structure. Mouthfilling flavours of blackberry, liquorice and blackcurrants with underlying vanillin cedar and some spice on the finish. Very fine grained velvety tannins. Excellent depth with a long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry, vanillin cedar and spice.
