2012 Gemtree The Phantom Red Blend IV

A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Shiraz, 5% Mourvedre, 5% Tempranillo and 5% Sangiovese. Certified organic. Totally opaque inky black heart with a deep dark purple black hue. Ripe blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice aromas arise from the glass followed by some dark chocolate, subtle earth and lightly smoked spicy cedar. Rich, smooth and supplely textured the palate features flavours of blackcurrant and a touch of liquorice over some black olive, earth and spicy cedar. The velvety tannins have an underlying firmness which imparts some dryness on the finish. Medium to long aftertaste of blackcurrant, black olive, subtle earth and spicy cedar.
