Outstanding colour saturation displaying an impenetrable midnight black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Maturation took place in varying proportions of new and one year old French and American oak barrels for 19 months. Powerful aromas of liquorice and ripe blackberries emanate from the glass over a toasty oak background with dark chocolate, vanilla and spice end notes. Full bodied and very rich the palate possesses lusciously textured flavours of ripe blackberries and liquorice over some dark chocolately oak, vanillin confectionary and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Long liquorice, ripe blackberry, toasty vanillin oak and confectionary aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
