2012 Felino by Vina Cobos Cabernet Sauvignon

Akin to riper styled Bordeauxs, the Felino red selections are intended as food friendly wines for early consumption.

The 2012 Felino Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 8% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot from Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu, 20% of which is aged in French and American oak. Totally opaque black crimson colour with deep crimson red black hue. Nosing reveals ripe blackcurrant and liquorice top notes with some underlying cedar and spice. Abundant richness with ripe blackcurrant and liquorice flavours flooding the palate over some cedary vanillin oak and spice. Solid but very fine grained tannins provide a base for the gob smacking fruit. Long rich ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and spicy lightly toasted cedar aftertaste.
