2012 Claymore Wines Dark Side of the Moon Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in oak of which 30% was new. Outstanding super saturated inky black colour with a deep dark crimson black hue. Scented top notes of liquorice waft from the glass followed by ripe blackberries and some dark plum with underlying vanillin oak and confectionary. Full bodied and possessing superb richness the palate delivers lavish flavours of liquorice and blackberries prevalent over vanillin oak, subtle dark chocolate and confectionary. Very fine grained velvet like tannins along with fresh balanced acidity. Long liquorice, blackberry, subtle dark chocolate and vanillin confectionary aftertaste.
