2012 Clarendon Hills Liandra Syrah

Outstanding colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. Very expressive nose with scented aromas of liquorice and ripe blackberries to the fore overlaid by some smoky dried meat characters with following vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied, rich and concentrated the palate possesses great opulence that’s underpinned by a robust structure. Mouthfilling flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plum dominate with a smoky dried meat overlay and nuances of spicy cedar and pepper on the back palate. Structured masculine like tannins come across as quite velvet like beneath the wealth of fruit. Outstanding depth with an exceptionally long ripe blackberry, liquorice, smoky cedar, dried meats and spice aftertaste.
