Named after the nearby old brick kiln bridge this 20 acre vineyard is located at Willunga in the southern reaches of McLaren Vale. As with the previous releases of Brick Kiln The Grove, this wine was selected at a pre-bottling tasting of all the 2012 French Oak hogsheads with the best six barrels bottled as the 2012 Grove. Maturation took place in 100% French oak for a period of 18 months.

Opulent McLaren Vale Shiraz at its glorious best showcasing the regions renown fruit purity and richness.

Outstanding colour saturation displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very dark red black hue. Alluring aromas of liquorice, dark plum and ripe blackberries unravel themselves from the glass followed by some dark chocolate, subtlety toasted vanillin oak and spice. Large scaled, rich and layered the palate possesses decadent fruit flavours of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plums that fill every corner of the mouth followed by nuances of vanillin oak, a touch of dark chocolate and spice. The opulence and richness of fruit perfectly counterpointed by a solid yet velvet like tannin structure. Outstanding depth with a very long and persistent aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums and spicy vanillin oak. With a total production of only 289 dozen for the entire world stocks are limited.
