Outstanding Stuff!

Still family owned and operated by Doug and Joy Bowen, this small Coonawarra vineyard has been evolving over the past 40+ years and now involves their daughter, Emma who has taken on the winemaking role whilst Doug is looking after the viticultural side of things.

‘A Big, Rich, Powerful Coonawarra Shiraz that only Bowen Estate seems capable of extracting from the Terra Rossa soils on a consistent basis.’

Totally opaque inky black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. Nosing reveals pronounced ripe blackberry and liquorice aromas over some dark chocolate, subtlety toasted vanillin oak and spice notes. Rich and densely concentrated the palate is loaded with a huge core of fruit that includes flavours of ripe blackberry and liquorice that completely flood the palate with nuances of dark plum, vanillin oak and pepper also present. Solid but velvety like tannin structure with very long persistent aftertaste of ripe blackberries, liquorice, vanillin oak and pepper.
Cellar 5-6 years (2019-2020).
Alc 15.0%
