The Adelaide Hills is renowned for its Sauvignon Blanc. Meticulous site selection and night harvesting by the Bird in Hand viticultural team have ensured a vibrant example of pristine, cooler climate fruit. Free run only parcels and separate fermentation in stainless steel tanks maintain fresh, lively characters and trademark varietal definition.

Most readers will be familiar with the Shaw & Smith winery which has been producing Sauvignon Blanc from the Adelaide Hills since 1990, when the variety was barely associated with Australia. Since then, it's become a local benchmark for the varietal. We think Bird in Hand are next in line for this respect. Brilliant water like colour with faint greenish tinge on the edges and watery hue. The nose displays lifted scents of passionfruit, some ripe gooseberry, a touch of green apple and citrus. Fresh and vibrant the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of passionfruit followed by some tropical fruits, a touch of unripe gooseberry and citrus. Clean crisp acid finish. Long passionfruit and citrus aftertaste.
