Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with a crimson hue. Perfumed aromas of violets and dark cherries intermixed with some sour cherries are followed by meaty characters and spicy cedar. Light to medium weight the palate possesses a little more presence and structure than the Crown Prince delivering powerful flavours of ripe cherries and strawberries with a faint sour cherry overlay followed by some meatiness and spicy cedar on the long savoury finish. Very fine grained velvet like tannins. Long persistent aftertaste of ripe cherries, strawberry, subtle sour cherry, meaty cedar and spice.

Other Reviews….
Inviting colour, proclaiming all is well here; how can it be possible this is on the fourth rung of the Bass Phillip price ladder, the perfumed fragrance leading into a silky entrance to the mouth with red fruits to the fore; darker spices come into play on the immediately appealing mid-palate, the tannins gossamer-fine all the way through to the long finish. Drink by 2030.
