2012 Atze's Corner Zen Master Shiraz

Sourced from vines planted in 1912 only 50 cases were produced of this cuvee. Maturation was in a new French oak puncheon for 24 months. Totally opaque inky black colour with a very deep dark crimson red black hue. Pronounced aromas of dark plum and liquorice are overlaid by some fennel like characters followed by some smoky oak and spice. Rich and powerful with a dense thick texture the palate is over whelmed with luscious dark plum, ripe blackberry and liquorice flavours followed by nuances of fennel, smoky cedar and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Exceptionally long aftertaste of dark plums, liquorice, fennel, smoky cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 6-8 years.
