2012 Atze's Corner Forgotten Hero Shiraz

Sourced from a vineyard planted in 1961 the resultant wine was matured for 18 months in new French oak. Totally opaque midnight black colour with a deep dark red black hue. Scented ripe blackberry and liquorice top notes engulf the senses followed by some dark plum, vanillin cedar, confectionary and light pepper end notes. Full bodied the palate possesses outstanding richness and concentration with opulent mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums saturating every inch of the palate followed by spicy toasty vanillin cedar and pepper. Enormous power with an exceptionally long conclusion of liquorice, ripe blackberries, dark plums, spicy toasty vanillin cedar and pepper. Total production of only 60 dozen.
