2012 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with a tinge of black around the outskirts and crimson red hue. Perfumed dark cherry and strawberry aromas intermix with a hint of violet followed by some light meatiness and spicy cedar. Light weight with an elegant mouthfeel the palate has flavours of strawberries and dark cherries to the fore followed by some meatiness, lightly scorched earth and spicy cedar. Very good power wave. Velvet smooth tannins with long strawberry, dark cherry, light dried meats and spicy cedar aftertaste. Still quite primary the wine needs some bottle age blossom fully. Cellar 5-6 years. Alc 13.5%
