A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot which was matured in French oak for 14-16 months. Opaque black dark red colour with deep very dark red hue. The nose displays dark mulberry and blackcurrant notes intermixed with some cedary cigar box and spice. Medium to full bodied generous ripe mulberry and blackcurrant flavours mesh together with some underlying cedar and spice. Excellent length with a solidly built tannin structure providing support. Medium to long mulberry, blackcurrant and spicy cigar box aftertaste. Limited Stocks.
Cellar 3-4 years.
Deep, bright purple-crimson; from the Russell Road Vineyard, and named for the tireless worker who was central to its development many years ago. Has multiple layers to its medium- to full-bodied palate, blackcurrant, plum, tannins and French oak all contributing to a complex wine with a long life ahead. Outstanding value. Drink by 2031.
