2011 Sipsmith Sloe Gin (500ml)

London, UNITED KINGDOM
$99. 99
Bottle
$1199.88 Dozen
ABV: 29%

Sipsmith was established in London in 2009. The first copper-pot based distillery to start up in London in 189 years, it is one of only four gin distilleries located within the city limits.

Launched in September 2010, Sipsmith's sloe gin was an instant hit. Produced as a limited vintage edition each year, it's based on Sipsmith’s Gin and employs Dartmoor sloe berries.

Tasting note: [2011 release] Bright ruby red with a deep pink hue. Offers appealing, pure scents of juniper and dried herbs over ripe blackcurrant and cranberry. A creamy entry leads into a juicy, semi sweet, concentrated mid palate delivering a succulent medley of ripe berries and juniper to end perfectly balanced, pleasantly tart and with excellent purity and length. 29% Alc./Vol.

Other reviews... Appearance: (2010 vintage) Clear, ruby red. Aroma: Ripe red fruits with a greeny woodyness (freshly cut hedge). Taste: Sweet yet tart sloe berries, cherry and black currant with cleansing cracked black pepper. Aftertaste: Fades with green sloe berries and cracked black pepper. Rating: 4 Stars. Praiseworthy. - www.diffordsguide.comsize>
