An excellent follow up to the outstanding 2010.

Like so many other of today's leading young Australian winemakers Tim Burvill started his career at Southcorp. There he gained widespread experience making wines in both Coonawarra and the Barossa and in a very short time became responsible for making Southcorp's super premium white wines including Penfolds Yattarna. However, as a result of the merger between Rosemount and Southcorp in 2001 Tim lost his job. This provided him with a great opportunity to start his own venture - RockBare wines based in McLaren Vale. Totally opaque black purple colour with dark purple red hue. The nose displays aromas of dark plum, liquorice and toasty oak with a hint of spice as an end note. Rich and joosy the palate delivers generous flavours of dark plum, liquorice and ripe blackberry followed by some toasty oak and spice. Fine grained tannins. Long blackberry, liquorice, toasty oak and spice aftertaste.
