2011 Rocche Costamagna Barbera d'Alba Superiore

Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. The nose displays aromatics of ripe dark cherries and subtle hints of liquorice followed by earthy cedar, some leather and spice. Medium weight, elegantly textured and fruity the palate features ripe dark cherry and black raspberry flavours over some earthy cedar, a touch of tobacco and spice. Dry and savoury with very fine grained tannins and good freshness. Medium to long aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, earthy cedar, light tobacco and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.

A full-bodied red with dried-berry, dark-chocolate, hazelnut and licorice character. Velvety tannins for a Barbera with a long, savory finish. Such a balanced red. Super quality. Better in 2016.
