Opaque black dark red colour with a dark purple red hue. On the nose aromas of dark to black cherries are intermixed with nuances of liquorice and leather followed by some subtle scorched earth and spice. Medium bodied the palate possesses good richness with dark cherry and liquorice flavours over some subtle vanillin cedar, earthy leather and spice. Quite savoury with very fine grained verging on velvet like tannins. Good depth with long dark cherry, liquorice, vanillin cedar and light spicy leather aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews….
The vineyard is on the red soil hill directly opposite Lake's Folly. It has a vibrant colour, its bouquet extremely complex, its medium-bodied palate with outstanding texture and structure; black cherry, plum and red cherry (in that order of importance) provide the foundation for a wine that celebrates the magnificence of the Hunter Valley in a vintage such as this. Drink by 2051.
