Home Hill is one of your classic Australian vineyard retreats that functions as both a serious winery and a charming getaway with restaurant included. The focus here is primarily on Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sylvaner and Sparkling wine, but their track record really shines with Pinot. Their 2005 release won the Tri Nations Trophy (knocking the Kiwis off their perch for the first time). Subsequent vintages have attracted similar acclaim.

Deep dark red colour with crimson red hue showing very good depth. Superb perfumed nose delivering fabulous intensity with aromas of ripe dark cherries, a touch of violets, dark plum and anise leaping out of the glass followed by some gamey cedar and spice. Generous and rich the palate delivers mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark cherries and dark plum over a background of cedar, game and spice. Excellent power wave with velvet smooth tannins. Very long ripe dark cherry, dark plum, cedar, game and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2017-2018).
Alc 13.5%
