2011 Ebano 6 Tempranillo

The vogue region for Tempranillo at present, D.O. Ribera del Duero is a couple of hours north of Madrid. It’s a warm by day, very cool at night, high altitude river valley system (ribera = river), which flows west into Portugal and is rebadged at the border as the Douro (as in Douro Valley, where Port Wine is grown).

Outstanding totally opaque inky black purple colour with deep dark purple black hue. The nose exhibits black cherry top notes followed by some liquorice, earth and spice. Rich and full bodied the palate boasts black cherry, earth and liquorice flavours with a spicy finish. Chewy mouthfeel with dry firmish tannins asserting their presence. Long chewy black cherry, liquorice, earth and spice aftertaste.
