2011 Cornelius Chardonnay

Matured for 15 months in 50% new and 50% 1 year old French oak barriques. Bright straw colour with pale gold edges and a watery hue. The nose offers up aromas of honeycomb, butterscotch, honeyed peaches, nougat and cashew. The palate is lighter than expected with flavours of lemon butter, bees wax, toasted cashew and light spicy nougat. Clean dry finish with a bright line of acidity running through the wine. Aftertaste of lemon butter, bees wax, roasted cashew and light nougat.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
