2011 Chateau Segur de Cabanac

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant aromas lead the charge on the nose followed by hints of dark chocolate, tobacco characters, vanillin cedar, earth and spice. Medium bodied and quite supple in nature, flavours of ripe blackcurrant sit over earthy vanillin cedar, dusty tobacco and spice characters. Fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, dusty vanillin cedar, earth, light tobacco and spice. The fruit is still holding up and the tannins have softened making this very drinkable over the next 3-4 years.
