2011 Cape Mentelle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon

Brilliant water like colour with slight greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose displays passionfruit and lime top notes followed by some green apple and citrus. Fresh and lively the palate delivers flavours of passionfruit, lime and green apple with a crisp minerally dry finish. Medium to long aftertaste of passionfruit, green apple and mineral.

Bright quartz-green; this is the unwooded version of Cape Mentelle's sauvignon blanc semillon, but shows the fruit intensity and complexity that allows the (oaked) Wallcliffe version to succeed so well. Here there is a panoply of aromas and flavours spanning citrus/grapefruit, stone fruit and tropical fruits (whatever you care to mention) sustained by lovely natural acidity. Screwcap.
