2011 Caliterra Reserva Carmenere

Aged in a combination of French & American oak barrels. Superb colour saturation – opaque black crimson colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose displays strong varietal character and good lift with scents of dark cherry and blackcurrant intermixed with tobacco followed by some earthy cedar like characters. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses generous flavours of blackcurrant and dark ripe cherry with some smoky tobacco and spice on the back palate which carries right through to the finish. Very fine grained tannin structure. Medium to long aftertaste of blackcurrant, smoky tobacco and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2013-2017).
