This outstanding rendition of Barossa Shiraz was sourced predominately from the Barossa Valley and with a 17% Eden Valley component making up the balance. With an average vine age of 53 years the Barossa Valley component provides richness, density and concentration, while the Eden Valley Shiraz provides subtle exotic aromatics and seamless palate structure. Maturation took place in 100 litre French & American oak octaves for 20 months.

A Barossa Shiraz with the regions trademark richness and power, yet a sense of refinement, possessing a pure textural silkiness.

Opens magnificently with a midnight black dark purple colour and a nose that captivates the senses. Brooding aromatics of ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plum and subtle dark chocolate are drawn in by the nostrils over lightly toasted vanillin cedar, hints of earth and pepper. Full bodied, rich and opulently textured, yet showing great poise and perfect harmony between all the components. Mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums cascade their way across the palate in waves with underlying nuances of dark chocolate, vanillin cedar, faint earth and spice. Has a satin like feel with the tannins perfectly intermeshed with the fruit. Very powerful and persistent with an exceptionally long aftertaste of ripe blackberry, liquorice, dark plums, vanillin cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 8-10 years.
