More winelovers should be aware of this recently reinvigorated, stand out estate which was one of the first five to be planted in Margaret River. Proprietors, David and Heather Watson have always aimed to create wines that emulate the great vineyards of Bordeaux. After a near decade interlude in production, this is the fourth cuvee of 'Margaret' to come to our attention and it marks a bargain quadrella that stands out from the Margaret River pack. Produced from a blend of 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot and 15% Malbec and matured in French oak for 18 months.

Opaque black dark crimson red colour with deep dark crimson red hue. The nose displays a lifted bouquet of blackcurrant and dark mulberry followed by some cedary tobacco leaf like characters, a hint of complexing bay leaf and spice. Possessing good richness this medium to full bodied blend delivers mouthfilling flavours of blackcurrant, mulberry, cedar, some tobacco cigar box like characters, a touch of bay leaf and spice. Very fine grained yet well-constructed tannins. Long blackcurrant, tobacco, mulberry and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years (2018-2020).
Alc 13.5%
