Already showing excellent complexity and depth, this outstanding Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to develop over the next 6-8 years plus.
The 2010 vintage is a blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 1.5% Petit Verdot, 0.5% Cabernet Franc with maturation taking place in French oak of which 51% was new and 49% 1-4 year old for a period of 18 months. “Vasse Felix have consistently produced one of the best values in Cabernet Sauvignon from arguably Australia’s most reliable region for Bordeaux stylings of the varietal. Gourmet Traveller winemaker of the year Virginia Willcock has excelled with the 2010 vintage producing a Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon that exudes, class, richness and structure.”

Opaque black crimson colour with dark red black hue. The nose is quite perfumed with delightful scents of blackcurrant and violets followed by some mulberry, cedary tobacco, a hint of bay leaf and spice. Medium to full bodied the palate is perfectly weighted for Margaret River Cabernet possessing a superb combination of richness, elegance and structure that will ensure a long cellaring life. Mouthfilling flavours of blackcurrant and dark mulberry are overlaid with a touch of bay leaf followed by some cedary tobacco like characters and spice. Solidly built yet very fine grained and perfectly integrated tannin structure. Excellent length with long blackcurrant, mulberry, tobacco and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Alc 14.5%
