To produce this wine Shiraz and Viognier are naturally co-fermented in open wooden vats and aged in old French oak barriques for a period of 16 months. Opaque black purple colour with deep dark purple red hue. The nose is very perfumed with scents of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some toasty vanillin confectionary and spice. Rich, full bodied and voluptuous the palate delivers concentrated flavours of ripe blackberry and liquorice which dominate over a background of confectionary, toasty oak and a faint hint of spicy apricot. Despite the succulent fruit the finish is dry with a solid structure tannin that provides an excellent framework. Medium to long blackberry, liquorice, toast and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
