- Cellar Drink Now - 3 years (2012-2015)
- Closure: Screw Cap
Located at Dixon’s Creek, Toolangi Vineyards was named due to its position adjacent to the picturesque Toolangi State Forest. Garry and Julie Hounsell purchased the former cattle grazing property in early 1995 and planted the first 0.5 hectare of vines that December. Top gun contract winemakers are employed including Rick Kinzbrunner, Franco D'Anna, David Bicknell and Willy Lunn at Yering Station.
Aged in French oak for 10 months. Semi translucent bright crimson red colour with crimson mauve hue. Perfumed dark cherry, dark plum and anise aromas are followed by some toasty oak and spice. Light to medium weight the palate has excellent flavour intensity and power with ripe dark cherries and dark plum supported by some toasty anise characters and a spicy back palate. Velvet smooth tannins with long dark cherry, dark plum & spicy oak aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2015).
