The Teusner Albert Shiraz is named after Kym's Grandfather, Albert Alfred Teusner and comes from parcels of fruit sourced from one old block in the Barossa’s North at Ebenezer and the other at the Barossa’s Southern most extremity at Williamstown. The wine is crushed and fermented in open fermenters with twice daily pump-overs before heading to French oak (30% new) for around 18 months before the barrels are classified. Opaque black dark purple colour with dark purple hue. The nose exhibits liquorice and blackberry top notes followed by some confectionary and spice. Dense and very rich the palate is flooded with ripe blackberry and dark plum flavours followed by some dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins with opulent mouthfeel. Superb power with long blackberry, dark plum, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice aftertaste.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 14.5%
