2010 Smith & Hooper Merlot

Opaque very deep dark red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose is at the riper end of the spectrum with scents of dark ripe mulberry intermixed with some dark chocolate followed by some cedar and a hint of spicy tobacco as an end note. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses plenty of richness with ripe blackcurrant and dark mulberry flavours followed by some underlying cedar and spice. Very fine grained well integrated tannin structure. Medium to long blackcurrant , dark mulberry and spicy cedar aftertaste.
Cellar 3-4 years.
