2010 Schild Estate Sparkling Shiraz

This Sparkling red opens well pouring with a frothy dark red tinged mousse that shows very good hold. Deep dark red base wine colour with an exceptionally fine bead that shows good persistence. Nosing reveals ripe dark plum and dark chocolate aromas over some vanillin oak and a touch of earthy leather. The palate shows some early signs of development with flavours of dark plum and dark chocolate overlaid by some toasty oak with earthy leather and spice following. Moderately creamy texture. Dryish finish with an aftertaste of dark plum, dark chocolate, toasty vanillin oak and earthy leather.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
