Matured in French oak for 10 months of which 25% were new. The colour is somewhat developed for such a young Pinot Noir displaying a semi translucent crimson red colour with a light brick red hue. The nose shows good perfumed lift with aromas of violets, dark cherries and ripe strawberries followed by some spicy cedar. Light to medium weight but delivering plenty of power and richness with flavours of ripe dark cherries, spice and some gamey meat like characters with a light cedar overlay. Impressive length with very fine grained ever so slightly dryish tannins and long aftertaste of dark cherry, spicy cedar and gamey meat like characters. An excellent Pinot that would have secured a higher score if the wines colour was taken out of the equation.
Drink over the next 3-4 years (2011-2015).
Alc 14.5%
