Rich, powerful and deep with a velvety opulent textural feel.

Magnificent depth of colour featuring a totally impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black hue showing absolutely no signs of aging. Powerful aromatics of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate infused with vanillin oak waft out of the glass followed by hints of mint, light earth and spice. Rich, dense and concentrated the mouth is saturated with voluptuously textured flavours of blackberries, liquorice and choc mint which sit over a back drop of toasty vanillin oak, nuances of earth and spice. Velvet smooth tannins are perfectly married to the seductive fruit profile. Superb power with a long finish of ripe blackberries, liquorice, choc mint infusions, toasty vanillin cedar and earthy spice.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 14.5%

Other Reviews…
A deeply coloured wine made from a small planting of 100-year-old vines yielding 1 tonne per acre, year-in, year-out. It is as aristocratic as it is concentrated, with layer-upon-layer of black fruits, touches of licorice and dark chocolate well in the shadow of the fruit. Will live for decades to come.
Drink by 2040.
