A great value fuller styled Pinot Noir.

The Narkoojee vineyard was established in 1980 by Harry Friend on the family dairy farm. The vines are planted on deep alluvial soils with mixtures of clay, silt, sand and ironstone gravels. The climate is cool, requiring the vines to be trained on the Lyre Trellis system which increases the exposure of the vines to sunlight and air. Good depth with dark red colour and dark red hue. The nose is quite perfumed with lifted scents of dark cherry, dark plum and violets followed by some toasty oak and clove notes. Quite weighty this is a rich generously textured Pinot Noir with a dark powerful fruit profile of dark plum and ripe dark cherries followed by some underlying toasty oak and spice. Soft supple texture with velvet smooth tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe dark plum, dark cherry and spicy oak.
Drink over the next 1-2 years (2012-2014).
Alc 13.5%
