In 2010 Coonawarra showed why it is one of the great red wine producing regions of Australia.

The fruit for this superb Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from the renowned Penley Estate. From 23 year old vines the fruit was picked on different days to allow for optimum ripening, with parcels separately fermented in 7 and 8 tonne open fermenters. On-skin fermentation was completed before pressings were sent to barrel for 13-17 months to complete fermentation in a 45% new American and French oak combination.
This is a first class example of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and a pointer to the quality of the 2010 Coonawarra vintage.

Totally opaque, black, dark crimson red colour with deep, black, crimson red hue. The nose displays an aromatic profile of mulberry, tobacco, cedar and spice with some bay leaf overtones also present. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses excellent richness being filled with ripe blackcurrant flavours, mulberry, tobacco, cedar and spice. Slightly dryish but very fine grained tannins. Excellent length with long blackcurrant, mulberry, spicy tobacco and cedar aftertaste.
