2010 Mazzei Zisola

Made from Nero d’Avola grapes this wine was aged for 10 months in small 225 litre oak casks of which 33% were new. Deep dark red colour with dark red hue. The nose displays very ripe notes of black cherry and stewed plum followed by some liquorice, cedar and earth. Medium weight the palate delivers flavours of black plums and dark cherries followed by some earth and spice. Dry finish with velvet smooth tannins. Aftertaste of black plum, earth and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
