2010 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnay

Another outstanding release of what is arguably Australia’s greatest white wine.
Brilliant very pale straw colour with distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose reveals a complex array of aromas with cashew and white peach intermeshed followed by some citrus, a hint of cinnamon, almond and subtle toasty oak. Full, rich and concentrated the palate delivers a seamless flavour profile of ripe peach, some honeycomb, creamy cashew, citrus, a touch of nougat and spicy oak. Clean dry finish with excellent textural mouthfeel and acid structure. Superb depth with very long and persistent aftertaste of cashew, white peach, spicy oak, a touch of honeycomb and light almond biscuit.

Aromatically tight, but expansive and expressive in the mouth, pouring out its pear, green guava and fig flavors in a generous stream, with glints of spice. Comes together smoothly on a deftly balanced frame to let the finish sail on and on. Drink now through 2030.
