With nearly 30 years spent making Penfolds Grange and developing the RWT label at Penfolds, John Duval qualifies as one of Australia's living wine legends. In 2003 he launched John Duval Wines and wasted no time sourcing some of South Australia's finest fruit. “After 35 years in the business, I know who the best growers are,” comments Duval.

The 2010 release was matured for 17 months in French oak. Totally opaque black dark purple colour with very deep dark purple hue.The nose presents an elegant yet perfumed profile of ripe blackberry and liquorice followed by some subtle dark chocolate notes, vanillin confectionary and spice. Richly concentrated, plush and deep the palate boasts mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackberry,dark plum, liquorice and dark chocolate followed by some subtle toasty characters and a spicy back palate. Velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Superb depth with long aftertaste of blackberry, liquorice, dark plum and spice.
