2010 Inkwell Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in French oak of which 30% was new. Totally opaque inky black purple colour with deep black purple hue. The nose is a little restrained with aromas of ripe blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by a trace of spice. Full bodied and rich the palate delivers a ripe flavour profile of blackberry, liquorice and dark plum followed by a spicy back palate. Slightly grippy, dry and chalky tannins which cut the finish a little short. Aftertaste of liquorice, blackberry and spice.
