2010 Heathcote Winery Slaughter House Paddock Shiraz

Matured in American oak for 12 months of which 25% was new. Opaque black dark crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose displays lifted plummy notes followed by some liquorice, vanillin cedar and a touch of spice. Good palate richness in a medium to full bodied style with a plush velvety texture. Generous flavours of dark plum and liquorice dominate followed by some blackberry, toasty vanilla, confectionary and spice. Silky smooth tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of dark ripe plum, liquorice, a hint of mint and spice.
