Winemaker, Richard Langford is raving about 2010 in the Barossa declaring it 'an absolute classic'. This year's Elderton was matured for 14 months in predominantly American oak puncheons.

A welcome return to top form.

Totally opaque black crimson colour with dark crimson red hue. The nose displays lifted scents of ripe blackberry and dark plum followed by some dark chocolate bullets, mocha and spice. The palate possesses the voluptuousness that first made it a Barossa benchmark in its price bracket. Flavours of ripe blackberry, liquorice, mocha, vanillin oak and spice. Velvet smooth tannins provide the wine with a plush mouthfeel. Long blackberry, liquorice, plum and vanillin spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2012-2017)
Alc 14.5%

Other Reviews.....
Deep crimson, purple hue; a bright and fragrant wine, showing blackberry, licorice, toasty oak and violets on the bouquet; the medium-bodied palate is lively and super fresh, accessible and thoroughly engaging, offering very good value in every respect. Drink by 2022.
