2010 Elderton Ashmead Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured in French oak for 18 months. Opaque black dark red colour with deep dark red hue. The nose provides an expressive bouquet of very ripe blackcurrant, almost cassis like top notes followed by some dark mulberry, subtle chocolate, cedar and spice. Full bodied the palate is densely packed with ripe rich blackcurrant fruit flavours followed by some ripe dark plum, a touch of liquorice, cedar, subtle cigar box and spice. Firm sturdy tannin structure provides the necessary balance and support for the fruit. Long aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, dark plum and liquorice followed by some cedar and spice.
Cellar 5-8 years.
