It was only in 1920 that Magloire Archambault started planting vines on the family estate after he returned from war. Today, the estate is owned by the Saget family and the 45 Ha are located in several villages of the Sancerre appellation, covering all the different soil types: caillottes, griottes, "terres blanches" and Silex. Perhaps the most notable feature of the estate is the underground cellar, which doubles up as the most visited site in Sancerre, where one can find a state of the art winery sheltered by layers of limestone. The "Domaine de La Perriere Sancerre" sources fruit from a selection of four different sites with different geological characteristics in order to maximise complexity. The Sauvignon vines are of a 20 year old average.

Brilliant very pale straw colour with faint greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose displays good lift with aromas of lime, herbaceous gooseberry, a hint of citrus and mineral. Crisp refreshing palate, slightly leaner and more steely in style compared to the 2008. Flavours of lime, mineral and citrus with a herbaceous gooseberry overlay. Clean crisp flinty mineral infused finish. Aftertaste of gooseberry, flinty mineral and lime.
Drink over the next 2 years (2011-2013).
