Amongst the pioneering vineyards of the Pipers Brook region, the Delamere property began life as a wonderfully diverse fruit orchard and market garden. The vision of Richard and Dallas Richardson saw the more elevated areas of the property planted out to the classic cool climate cultivars of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in 1981.
The 2010 vintage delivered extremely low crops across Tasmania, which had two significant outcomes for Delamere. Their estate fruit was riper and denser than they had ever witnessed before, and the volumes were so low that Delamere was forced to source a small amount of additional fruit from various other Tasmanian vineyards.

Semi translucent dark crimson red colour with dark crimson red hue. Perfumed nose with lifted violet top notes followed by some dark cherry, anise, lightly toasted cedar and dried meat characteristics. Light to medium weight the palate possesses excellent power with mouthfilling flavours of dark cherries, a touch of anise, some toasty cedar, gamey meat like characters and spice. Very fine grained almost velvet like tannins. Good length with long dark cherry, anise toasty cedar and meaty spice aftertaste.
Drink over the next 4-5 years (2012-2017).
Alc 13.5%
