2010 Clare Wine Co. Pyrite Shiraz

Matured in French oak of which 20% was new with the balance being 1 and 2 year old. Outstanding saturated inky black crimson red colour with very deep dark purple black hue. The nose displays excellent aromatics with lifted top notes of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate and liquorice followed by traces of mint and spicy cedar. Full bodied and sumptuously rich the palate boasts lashings of liquorice and ripe blackberry fruit followed by a touch of dark chocolate, vanillin oak and blackpepper. A solid firm tannin structure provides the framework. Long liquorice, blackberry, vanillin cedary oak and blackpepper aftertaste.
