- Closure: Cork
Typical of many 2010 Right Bank wines, Les Gravieres (100% Merlot) achieved 14.2% natural alcohol (the alcohols reached all-time records in this vintage). Its dense opaque purple color is accompanied by notes of white chocolate, mocha, espresso roast and extravagant levels of black cherries and black currants. While this is a fleshy cuvee, there is plenty of tannin lurking under the surface and I would not be surprised to see this wine close down after bottling. Deep, full-bodied and impressively endowed, it should drink nicely for 10-15 years. Drink: 2013 - 2026.
Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate # 194 May 2011
Dark and plush, with macerated currant, plum and blackberry notes carried by cocoa and anise. This has depth and cut, staying plush through the finish. -J.M.
